Hi Ted,

It's a very informal meetup of people interested in creating games.  We will probably chat more about Indie game development rather than "working for a big studio", as there aren't any game studios that I know of on Big Island.

There is the new Global Virtual Studio Transmedia Accelerator in Kona, and I know the folks running it. I think they may be an opportunity for freelancers to help out film/video project with a mobile game tie-in -- but that's probably as close as we get to studio life here.  LOL

This is just a free community meetup to bring together folks that like to make games. It has no ulterior motives, no commercial interests, and no list of qualifications.

We'll mostly be there to support each other's efforts. Although my background is tech, I don't think we'll spend much time talking about coding OpenGL coding, Cocos2D or specific toolchains. I hope we'll spend more time chatting about just making games and getting feedback on our early prototypes.

More "Flappy Bird" and less "Kingdom Hearts"
