Event Description

Mobile interfaces present designers a new world of opportunities and challenges, requiring laser-like focus on your concept and target audience, extensive knowledge of device constraints and capabilities, and a passion for learning and keeping up with the latest technology trends. This workshop is designed as a primer for individuals with a basic knowledge of visual design who want to make the jump into mobile. Explore the design and ergonomics behind the most popular mobile devices on the market (iOS & Android), discuss the differences between a native app and a mobile web app, and what it means to take a "mobile-first" approach in the design process.

Mike King is vice president of interactive design at Ikayzo, an interactive software agency based in Honolulu. Mike specializes in interaction design for web, mobile, and desktop applications. He has created interactive designs for finance, government and educational institutions. He has extensive experience designing for multiple mobile devices including iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android, as well as responsive design for mobile web applications.
