Does anyone on Maui have the brand new, launched yesterday, Verizon's 4G LTE service? I need to know _real_ coverage area and if it reaches Haiku-pauwela?

Update: the UH Maui College workshop next week is now full. If you haven't RSVP'd yet, we'll look forward to catching you at the next event. Thanks all!

Maui Makers is having our 1st Arduino class on July 16th - at Institute for Astronomy in Pukalani...

We are using the Spark Fun Electronics Inventors Kit as the basis. This first class will be a kickoff for follow-on more indepth projects and learning.

Sounds very interesting!  A FabLab would be a great thing to have on Maui - it would work well in conjunction with our Makerspace (Maui Makers) and the Makery that UH (Manoa) is installing at Kihei Charter.

Thursday evening is our usual Maui Makers meeting from 6-9pm, which fits well with this event. We invite all attendees over to our Pu'unene space!

Hoping we can get some good participation from this group at this event next week at  UH Maui College. Description follows:

---------------------

Chancellor Clyde Sakamoto invites you to an afternoon reception and brainstorming session at the Class Act Restaurant, in the Pa’ina Building at UH Maui College, between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m., July 7, 2011. MEDB is co-hosting the event.

UHMC is interested in determining the College’s priorities and next steps for exploring how it can best develop a high tech workforce for Maui, and how the College may serve as a resource for community members who are actively involved in high tech.

For those who are interested, a tour of the campuses television studios and Polycom meeting rooms will be offered afterwards by IT staff.

Parking is free.  Pupus and beverages will be served.

Hi all! I'm looking for a freelance developer who can consult with us on some issues related to HTML5... specifically, whether two educational games that we'll be developing in the next few months would be good candidates (vs. doing them in Flash). The listing is in the Tech Jobs board here. Would love it if I could find someone on Maui.  Best, Doug

Jerry,

We're working through the process right now along with battery backup as Karen mentioned.
