Just a reminder about dinner next week @ Flatbread. Please sign up as it will be easier to get the big room if I can say we've got a decent size group.

Last dinner we were talking about possible micros controlling hydroponic systems and tweeting about it. Seems PocketGrow has already built such a system for a small growing system. Or at least they are working on the prototype w/iPhone interface.... http://pocketgrow.com/microgrow/

A diy alternative to the iobridge system might be using an AsyncLabs Yellow Jacket

Makerbot Industries is offering 10 makerbots free to schools.

If anyone can get their local school to submit an entry, and get one of these 'bots, I will happily help get and keep it running!

Eddie - click on the link in Les's post reminding us about the Aug 10 dinner. That page has address (physical and url). Topic is open -- basically what ever people bring to the table (which includes the menu).

Darn. I'm in LA. Jerry--Your project is a great idea. Maybe we can help put up some visiting instructors some day. If any of you are interested in learning more about Neil Abercrombie for gov, he's going to be at my house on Sunday, Aug 15. It's for people who aren't yet sure who they want to support.

Yeah!! I will be in town and at the Asian Star.
It might be nice to have wi-fi at one of these dinners.
