3. Very good relevant student employment opportunities

What are three good things about being an ICS student:

1. Jobs are available on campus that pertain directly to our interests

2. Most textbooks are free online and no program costs leave class costs relatively low

3. Most classes are pretty central around POST

1) Faculty and staff with a lot of kindness, compassion, and knowledge. Pretty much every course I've had has had knowledgeable professors and TAs that help with all sorts of problems. And as long as you put in the time and effort, they are very understanding and go the extra mile to try and work with you.

2) The ICS/EE departments have lots of great resources that make accomplishing tasks more streamlined/convenient, such as computers to work on and free-to-use programs that are normally expensive.

3) Some classes help you build your portfolio and marketable skills, prepping you for marketing yourself, helping you to get internships, and educating you on starting your career. It helps a lot that I don't have to suddenly work on that alone after i graduate.

1. All ICS students are very helpful and always lend a hand to others who are struggling

2. Coding teaches you to think more critically and improve problem solving skills

3. There are a lot of different careers you can pursue as an ICS major

1. Learning from professionals and experts with plenty of industry and teaching experience.

2. Being around other people there share similar goals and are willing to help.

3. Studying in one of the world's most beautiful places.

1) Clubs that help ICS students be able to learn how to prepare for the real world

2) Professors and TAs that are always open to questions and are always willing to help students understand

3) Various activities that help students learn more about networking with each other and the outside world

1. Workshops/classes that teach us how to be professional when applying to jobs.

2. Clubs that teach us other material that can be used in the real world.

3. Help is always ready on standby whenever you need it.

Three good things about being a UH ICS student

1. The ICS course material being taught are essential to learn. Ranging from concepts, algorithms, programming, and web development are career-oriented experiences.

2. The ICS community and environment is very friendly and resourceful. Professors and TAs are willing to provide help when needed. Clubs are open to all that are resourceful such as learning, connections, and preparation. Lastly, Gerald Lau is a great advisor who provides plentiful information and resources.

3. ICS courses help students to build a professional persona that will be seen in real world application. Having an early start will enforce students to be a bit more prepared for a professional career.

1. There are many different computer science focused groups that as a UH ICS student, would help give me experience in a different aspects.
2. There are classes that requires us to collaborate and in turn, teaches us to learn to work together properly and efficiently.
3. Many upperclassman and teachers are willing to help us if we need it.

1. Have many opportunities to get a job
2. Experience and prepare for professional subjects in advance
3. Improve skills on group projects by collaborating with other students

1. UH provides many job or internship opportunities through career fairs, and other events.
2. The different ICS clubs that expose you to different parts of the industry (e.g. the Manoa Data Science club gave a overview of what a data scientist is and what they do).
3. Networking opportunities through fellow students, professors, and other professionals attending mixers, seminars, or presentations.

1. The ICS space in POST.

2. The chance to build a professional portfolio in ICS 314.

3. The abundance of online classes offered by the UH system.
