Game Developers:

If you're on the Big Island -- The Hawaii Island Game Developer Meetup Group is doing our 2nd Annual Game Jam.

Stop out to our October 29th Meetup in Hilo at the Hawaii Tech Exchange to meet local game developers and pick the themes for this year's event. Share and get feedback on your game throughout the winter holidays and show off your work at our January 28th meeting.

Join the meetup.com group to RSVP and keep in touch with follow game developers. We just recently hit 60 members.

Hawaii Island Game Developer Meetup

There are always tech events going on at the Hawaii Tech Exchange. App development, Web development, Robotics, design, writing, and more. Check our schedule of upcoming events for more info.

It would be worth adding Scaleform to the Flash/Unity/game discussion matrix. I haven't heard middleware mentioned in this thread but it's a very sought after, and often overlooked, area for Flash developers who want to work in game development.

Scaleform information here.

HI Dan, sorry! I will start a discussion. It started general about game companies in Hawaii, but turned into this.

Hey Wayne Karo, sorry for the late reply. But right now I'm working and learning with Unity. Going to be making my project using the Unity engine.

Hi Guys - You may want to move these discussions into their own thread (e.g. Flash Game Development.) Posts on the group wall are broadcast to everyone in the group, so its best to limit wall posts to general interest topics. If you create your own discussion in the game discussion forum (see directly above) it will be limited to those who participate.

Hi Sam,

Would you be interested in doing a talk on-line I use Adobe Connect if you are familiar with that software. The time of the event is June 1st & June 2nd. It is always better to be live, but if you can't make it here, lets do something remote. I will also be live streaming the event

thanks so much for all the comments, I really appreciate it! We are still looking for speakers if anybody is interested in speaking, flash game design, flash game development, etc. Please go to http://flashcamphawaii.com/speakers and send a mail to us.

We are also starting to sell tickets, and with each paid person you get a free license to - http://lanica.co/about/animo/ a $149.00 value!

I hope to get all the flash gamers to come to the camp, I think that it is going to be great!

Hi John,  I'd love to, unfortunately I teach remotely from London, England :-) And probably won't make it over to Hawaii in the immediate future.  However depending on the date/time I could record you a video or possibly even teleconference in ...

Hi Sam,

If all goes well I will attending HPU this Spring, depends on financial aid! Would you be interested in talking at the flash camp on game development in flash or unity? I would love to have some local talent speaking at the event. So far it is mainly people coming from the mainland, thanks!

Hey David, thanks, we teach game programming every fall - current crop of students are just polishing their games for final presentation - new set in the gallery soon.

Wayne, we teach Unity as part of the game programming course - several of the students usually end up using Unity for their final project.
