Patent licensing expert BG Balagopal will draw on his broad experience in food, pharmaceutical, industrial equipment, semiconductor, communications, software and media sectors to discuss approaches to patent strategy and portfolio management that align efficiently with a company's business plans.

Rajappan ‘BG’ Balagopal has 20+ years of multi-industry experience in intellectual property (IP) management, including IP assessment, operations and strategy; technology transfer and licensing; litigation and IP acquisitions and divestitures, for large and small firms, government, universities and private inventors. He has been employed as: Senior IP Strategist, Chadbourne & Parke LLP (2010-12); Vice President, Technology Intellectual Property Management, Walt Disney Company (2005-09); Director, Patent & Technology Transactions, Intel Corporation (2000-2005); and Vice President, Electronics & Telecommunications, BTG International Inc. (1994-2000). BG has B.Tech and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering, and is registered to practice at the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
