Wondering how students can effectively search for internship opportunities when they can't sort search results by date in TechHui :-(

@Sam - True. It would be nice if the search results were sorted by date, but there are only about a dozen posted per month, so its easy to quickly review the past few months for suitable job descriptions by scrolling through the discussion list, which is reverse chronological.

@Derek - Numerous local companies offer internships for software developers and other technical positions. Our company offers at least one internship per year and we've graduated three or four of those to full-time positions. Our requirements are strict (we are looking for the top 1-2 students in each class), but we do hire from graduate programs at local universities.

My advice is to find companies that interest you and email them. There are plenty of interesting tech companies in Hawaii doing everything from nanotech and renewable energy to web startups.

Technical Internships in Hawaii - yeah, I think we looked at those in one of my classes. It was the same section where we studied the fountain of youth and El Dorado, the lost city of gold.

Thanks, yes I see that, but if you search for the word "intern" the results are not ordered by date and there's no option to do so :-(

Hi Sam. The job listings in the forums are listed in reverse chronological order. They just need to look at the most recent posts: http://www.techhui.com/forum/categories/tech-jobs/listForCategory
