Mahalo Mika!

Say, we also put together the local Big Island Adobe User Group Meetings over here. Just planting that seed in case anyone is looking for something techie to do when over here. The meetings are at Hawai`i Community College and are held in the evenings on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

thanks for the welcome. tnx also for the comment on the blog name. I also enjoy the way muckadungdungfooshoyubillygoat just rolls off the tongue. sturgeon's law may be general, but I definitely know it applies to my own works in particular.

Thanks, Mika. I primarly use SharePoint but am interested in other products a well. Some of the best ideas I get for tweaking SharePoint come from other collaboration tools.

Aloha Mika,
Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to joining a few groups. I agree with you on the DB Administrators group. There probably are a few very good DBAs & Developers out there. Maybe a Network/Systems Admin group also? I wager there are a few of us out there too.

nice. London. how was the weather over there? must be cold...raining a lot?

that's nice. which linux are you running? did you ever try ubuton for desktop? I was surprise because it is easy! they make linux very easy. I never try their server yet I still feel more comfortable to run suse or redhat for server. I haven't touched linux for over a year! you will be the person for me about linux quetions in the future. :p.. I forget everything already.. too much to learn. I just try to catch up vista now.

it is nice you have .net and java team at the same time! what do they do here? you have developing team in japan and they localize to USA version?

Just curious, what java development tool you are using now? eclipse, jbuilder, jdeveloper? it is good to know what tool a java focusing company use in Hawaii. thanks!

Thanks again, Mika. I think I saw the Izuma Taisha in the movie Inland Sea. It must have been a beautiful place to grow up in.

Thanks for the Adachi Museum link. It looks beautiful in autumn. I want to see autumn in Japan someday. I miss the change of seasons.

thanks for the warm welcome Mika

nice, have you been Spain? I didn't go back for over 12 years. I missed there. I heard my classmates say it is very different now. I lived in Malaga, Torremonilos and some south coast area.

I started from Palm V with internet connetion (it was a pain!) then we gave up that platform and move to J2ME but still with a lot of limitation and not development friendly. then we move to CF .net and stay here since 4 years ago. we must say we are happy so far because we make it work with mobile database, internet, GPS, sync data to the server, barcode RFID and so on. However, I must say, the mobile is not matual yet. still a lot of bugs and limitations. Moreover, the mobile tech is not moving as fast as web. 1995 to 2000 web tech changed a lot, but I don't really see the changes of mobile devices.

it sounds like you like Linux and Java. is it because your company environment using those or just your interesting? perhaps, I will see you around for the .net group meeting if you join it. :)

Thanks Mika, my wife is from Yokohama, but I don't get to go to Japan often enough. We both love Kyoto and Nara. Next time I want to visit Imbe and other pottery places. I've never been to Izumo-ken.
