TechHui Sole Props -- Can you Email Me Your Health Insurance Situation?

I have obtained a meeting with Representative Calvin Say to discuss the prohibitive cost of health insurance for sole proprietors in the State of Hawaii, where there is no mechanism to allow sole props to enter into group buying pools. How are you handling the costs? What is it costing you? And how much has it gone up? What Is Status of Honolulu for Docsis 3.0?

I'm curious if anyone knows about this. On the Mainland, pushed by FiOS, many homes in California are getting cable modem speeds of 25 and 50 mbps down thanks to the new Docsis 3.0 specs. Does Oceanic plan to roll that out here? If so, when? And what's up with HawTel's broadband strategy? They must have some sort of upgrade plans. Any thoughts?

Act 221 -- Uncertainty Not Good For Anyone

The buzz I've been hearing from everyone in the VC and startup community is that the uncertainty over the fate of Act 221 has frozen all investments in tech companies in Hawaii. That's because no one can responsibly estimate a proper investment amount or strategy without a clear sense of the tax implications.
