This is really cool. I know beggars can't be choosers, but may I ask why the 300meg limit for individual files? Is this a technical limitation?

http://hawaiifreestorage.com/ This is a side project we are putting out there. Hopefully this being a techie forum you will find the correct use for this sort of site. The only real restriction that we are imposing is 80megs per individual file.

I'm ryanozawa@googlewave.com. It's still mostly a crashy, convoluted novelty, but I'm happy to connect.

Sorry - should have clicked through on web textures first ...

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/HTTP_Texture

we never tried this one - have you used it?

Note the caveat on http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlHTTPRequest

"Cannot be used to load textures or images from the internet, for more information see Web Textures"

Yeah, we used these:

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlHTTPRequest

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Secure_HTTP_Post

but were unable to pull in data other than text. I think they have specifically blocked image download over http in order to secure their revenue stream. But this was a few months ago - have you actually used these functions to load something other than text into SL?

hi 808Blogger,

Are you sure you can use Linden Scripting Language to load URL images onto objects? We've tried and failed in the past. Is this a new feature you are aware of?

Many thanks in advance
