Thanks for the welcome. I'm a Flex freelancer on the north shore of Maui. I would have liked to come over for the Flex session this weekend, but can't make it, maybe next time.
Thanks for the welcome. I've just launched a new news site called newsforwhatyoudo.com Its a social/collaborative news / feed reader and has groups for the various development languages. If you'd like to give it a try, it might be a good way to increase user engagement on Techhui. Below is a synopsis of why its different - you can see an example on my page where I imported it in as an RSS feed.
Many groups want an automatically updated feed of relevant news for their members to drive greater user engagement and SEO. We created a service that lets you and your members collaborate in creating this news feed. It automatically gathers news from sources you and your members specify such as member blogs and any other source on the internet. It doesn’t depend on members manually posting links or blog postings, but gathers new content automatically, giving your members a reason to come back every day. Its free for Ning groups to use and you can set it up in seconds just by importing one of our RSS feeds into the "RSS" pane in your Ning group.
I did go back to Yokohama and Yokohama Chukagai during spring break! I have a friend who is like a grandmother to me there, so I went to visit. Yokohama is also very pretty, I really liked the harbor area and Minato Mirai 21. I found this Japanese photographer who take amazing photos of Yokohama, and I use his photos as my backgrounds; his site is http://www.yokohama-photo.jp/ if you're interested!
It seems like both you and Dan have lived/traveled in many places, I hope I will have a chance to do so in the future too :)
If I didn't know better I'd say those first few lines were a generic message...see you tonight definitely! Yeah, my invitation was going to expire soon, so I join!
Aloha Mika,
Thanks for welcome and nice comment about my profile icon - I love PhotoShop probably just used threshold adjustment sometimes you get lucky!!

Mika,
Thank you for welcoming me & guiding me though techhui. I like the name! That fish in my profile picture is a giant Trevali, or Olua (what we call it in Hawaii).
Aloha!! Thanks for becoming my friend on TechHui.com -- its been a lovely pleasure to meet you online.
Thanks also for opening my eyes of the benefits to Hawai'i from the "Education Video about Act 221/215". I can't wait to land my next dream Career opportunity in Hawaii where I can make a contribution to help revitalize & reinvent Hawai'i's High Technology sector, as a senior technologist or program manager. Pray for me that thats opportunity will come soon. Perhaps we can also meet someday in person.
We missed you at the 2009 Holiday Science & Tech Fair, at the Japanese Cultural Center last Tuesday!! Where were you and Dan? I had a GREAT time and made a lot of leads -- I was even interviewed for a potential position with OceanIt Laboratories!! :) WOW! I'm so excited!
Hi Mika,
Keep in mind the Japanese farm is probably talking about Blue Fin tuna, which have different feed consumption requirements than Big Eye. We expect to grow our Ahi to 100 pounds and are estimated the need for two pounds of feed for every pound of growth. Our current feed cost estimate is forty cents per pound, however we are looking to source our feed locally, which could change this equation.
JTSI has several small contracts - so it's very likely there is a presence in Japan.
I see you are interested in "all things french" - how did that develop? I do too!
I took french in high school - have visited France twice, so far - and have recently enlisted a peer to learn more of the language with me!
Thanks for the comment. Was beginning to think I was talking to myself. So far Japan is looking bleak, so for now I am searching for a Senior SE or PM position here in Hawaii. I really like my job now more so the people, but nowhere to grow I think. Can't be a SA forever right. Neways 応援してくれてありがとうございます!
I am sorry for not replying promptly to the comment you left on my profile. Anyway, I just want to take you for dropping few lines and also pointing me to directions where I can learn more.
I am impressed with your accomplishments. Keep up the good work.
How do I join these 2 groups. I am very interested and very eager to meet network learn and share info with other like minded individuals here in Hawaii na....
Thanks, Mika. I will look into it. As for the video you just posted. It is the 3rd in a series of 4 that are coming and all involve Dan. It just happens that this was the first one out in a rough draft form. I will update you with the others as they come out of editing. David
We repair PC and Mac (However, we are not authorized by Apple yet). We also have a full retail shop selling computers, laptops, ipods and computer related gifts and gadgets. We support small businesses and Point of Sale systems. Our rates and prices are very competitive.
Would it be possible to telecast Live the UnConferenz for those of us that wish to view the events, but could not make it? For example via Skype or WEB CAM?
Also, would interactive Telecast be possible, to ask questions during the Q&A sessions?
Thank you Mika! That humblebee is a bit older now and is attending 1st grade at SF Public Montessori School but he is still just as cute, curious and handful. He was one of the main reasons we recently moved to the SF Bay area but we remain in close touch with the islands. Aloha from San Fran!

I will look at those groups.
Is there any group that invests in tech but NOT companies that take Act 221 money?
