Hi Scott, I've seen you with your wife at Glazers. Now I know your name! Interesting that you're bilingual in English and Japanese. My wife is, too; she's haole and grew up in Hamamatsu.
  • Truman Leung

Congratulations, Scott! Have a great time with your family and new family.

Jeez, where do I begin. I've been obsessed over sweetcron since I found out he was turning it into an application. It's very raw, still... and hard to share plugins. But an awesome feat. I worried it was going to be vapor ware.

Currently it's not so simple to install, configure(i.e. get rid of yong's face) but if you have an open editor to your live files, and a penchant for pain (nuking your blog) then you should be fine.

It does exactly what it says it will... by publishing your lifestream and all aggregates of feeds of data you generate while online. Some of it can become bothersome, for example: do I really want people to see when I play a video game, or that I played it for 6 friggin hours?

Either way it's completely configurable, and you control what makes it to the front page (though it's carte blanch, and no queueing for review).

I don't see why you can't take a stab at it, get over the rush, and then go back to whatever else you were doing.

The next major point release should have it nice and stable, AND hopefully a better theme support system -- he seems to have put in difficulty points to limit "entropy" or every blogger hopping onto the systme. *shrug*

    HTH,
    Eric

    Hi Scott,
it was nice to meet you yesterday at the GUI meetup. I really enjoyed the UI examples you showed us. Hope to see you next time :)
  • Stephen McMahon

Hey Scott! Check it out: http://bumptechnologies.com/
  • Stephen McMahon

I installed it this morning. If I see you on Thursday then I'll have to test it out. One more case of, "Why didn't I think of that."
  • Stephen McMahon

Truly! Free is my favorite kind :) It is also cool to have something that avoids business cards. So I'd say it is a sort of green app.

The GUI Meetup is on Thursday. I see that you've RSVPd. I'm planning to do a little demo on iui.

Did you ever end up getting a Mac? I have had to pass up too many opportunities lately because I'm Mac-less. I'm going to the Apple store tonight and I'm pretty certain that I'm not coming home without one.
  • Nick Mann

    Good morning Scott,

It was great meeting you yesterday. I look forward to chatting with you more via TechHui.
