Mahalo Rob!  Just read your bio!  Sorry if my question seemed a bit clueless.  I am a newbie to this blogging thing.  Love Wordpress - even love Wordpress MU which allows me to test various components, functionality, plugin's themes etc with ease.

Aloha Fred,

Yes, I am an SEO consultant for a large Drupal firm in San Fran and appreciate its panels (something Wordpress has not yet copied) and taxonomy (copies in v 2.8).  I spoke at DrupalCon SF last year and one of the big things people were talking about was making Drupal more simple (like WordPress).

On the flip side, I am a WordPress developer (published over a dozen plugins) and feel that due to the last few updates Wordpress is now the superior product on the market.  I say this from a SEO perspective and from a CMS / ease of client management perspective.  WordPress has done great at migrating from a blog to a CMS (by copying a lot of Drupals best features), from a designer standpoint they need only find a solution to page -in- page features (or panels) as i use plugins like Improved Include Page and EmbedPage (a plugin i wrote) to achieve the result.

For the sake of Tom Trenz and Philippe Tassin I wont give my opinion on Joomla :)

Aloha Rob, Have you worked on both Drupal and Wordpress?  Just curious on your viewpoint about their individual capabilities as a true CMS?

I love the new admin bar at the top when logged in, very "drupal-esk"

WordPress 3.1 is now available, called “Reinhardt” named in honor of the jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. Woot!

MediaTemple's had a lot of bumps lately from what I've heard. I just like what RackSpace has done with Mosso, they're putting a lot into it and how they productized CloudSites as a dumbed down version of CloudServers really has mass appeal. However, they keep creeping the price up. That's RackSpace for you though.

EngineHosting *is* cloud of a sort -- well, at least its clustered. MediaTemple was one of the first to bring "Cloud hosting" to a popular market, and they had persistent problems (pun intended!) with their MySQL performance and uptime. I think they're still a little slow. (Cloud hosting isn't automatically better.)

I definitely prefer a cloud env though. Ultimate redundancy, flexibility, and stability - affordable and CloudSites comes load balanced. 300 pages is just the start, definitely expecting serious growth. Thx for all the feedback... now to get my research hat on and dig in... matrices here I come

Yep, it should run on CloudSites no problem.

I typically use WordPress for smaller projects (Genesis is very nice!) and EE for larger or more custom ones. 300 pages really isn't all that many -- I wouldn't be nervous about WordPress for that reason.
