I have an armful of Android programming books and I'd recommend "Hello, Android" by Ed Burnette. There is an electronic version that is keeping up with the latest releases with samples. It covers most of the basics but not really games specifically. I think it has a Sukudo example.
New to the programming world. I became interested in programming when I took Java and Python last year in college. I know the Android market is based on Java. Because I am still new to programming, I figure I can buy some books and search up on some tutorials on how to create games for the Android. Is there anyone out there that can point me to the right direction on how to get started on game development for the Android?

Iphone -> Nokia
Anyone out there who would be interested in some contract work porting an IPhone game to Nokia devices? My buddy may have a steady stream of this type of work.

I found this while looking for resources on how to make your own custome Iphone App Icon. This little site will let you upload an image and create a nice glossy icon for you.
Sharing some news about my company's partnership with MotherApp to develop and market cross-platform mobile apps.

@sherwingao: I have not needed to use NSScanner. I am now parsing effectively with substrings and indexes. Liking the game pieces in Poggle :)

BTW, my team and I have created an iPhone game, Poggle, over the semester. It's still a prototype and there's a lot of feature missing. You can view the demo video here. Feel free to leave comments!

@DavidNeely: I've compiled it correctly before I think, but it's been a long time since then and I don't quite remember the steps, sorry :( Has NSScanner worked well for you since?
@TimCloss: The semester's been very busy so I haven't gotten a chance to try it out yet. I hope that I'll be able to find some free time during this winter break to try it out :)
