Hmmm drank a cup of coffee and now I see the group on MyGroup.

A couple days ago, I noticed Maui Techies had somehow become a 'pending' group.  Daniel fixed that pretty quick.  Today I went to MyGroups page and didnt see Maui Techies.  It is obviously here and I was able to navigate to it via other paths, but it did not show up on the MyGroups page.

That or my eyes arent working right this early.  Got up to watch the FIRST Robotics Competition kickoff (6 intense weeks coming up!).

Btw its about time for Maui Techies to have a face-to-face meeting again.  Who wants to organize this one?

Doug - I'll be there.  I'm flying over with Garrett early saturday morning (by the light of the eclipsed moon- well formerly eclipsed as thats over around 5am)

We are both staying the night and coming back (on diff flights) sunday.  I hear there are some others heading over too.

If Mauian TechHuians want to meet there is a robata grill called Tsukuneya right across the street. If you guys want to meet after the conference I'm happy to join you

We did this at a previous conference and it was fun. Any Mauians headed over, and up for dinner after?

After a bit of tail chasing, we have a great venue for the premier episodes of Garrett/Reichart's new show Invention USA.  We will be showing it in the Media Lab of Akaku, Maui Community Television.
We have the space from 7-10pm. This is their media lab with computers and such, so please be careful with food/drinks.  Grab something to eat before (good restaurants in area) and join Garret and the Maker/Techie/etc crew at 7pm!!

I noticed that History Channel is repeating the show on saturday and sunday too.  Perhaps we should take a few minutes out of the TechHui conference to laugh at/with the keynote speaker.

I think two local guys doing a show like this will be really motivational for the community. I'll be joining your shindig on the 9th.

"Invention USA" is a new show on History Channel co-hosted by two Maui Techies - Garrett Lisi and Reichart Von Wolfsheild.  The show premiers next friday Dec 9th at 8pm Hawaii Time (as best we can figure, schedule says 10pm PT but empirical test viewings of HC indicate that is 8pm HT).  We are planning to gather at the home of some other techies in Spreckelville (Paia) that evening.  Stay tooned for details on the event!

Any Rails hackers on Maui want to hear about a new start-up project? We're looking for a pair of RoR experts who want to get involved on an equity (and maybe minor cash) basis. Bootstrapped and ambitious; drop a line.

@Jerry The Friday night labs are  game design with IGDA and Makers (the Hi Capacity folks). Ignite is a Saturday session running from 2:45pm - 4:00pm. The full schedule with descriptions of the sessions will go up on the event page by Thursday at the latest. All the speakers will be listed, but to give you a preview they include your friend Garret Lisi, Kevin Hughes (CTO of Sprout), Gordon Bruce (Honolulu CIO), Dan Zelikman (Community Host for Civil Beat), John Garcia (Non-stop Honolulu), Todd Robertson (CEO of Hyperspective), Prof. Philip Johnson (UH ICS Prof working on gamification of energy conservation) and Rama McIntosh along with Chad Podoski on iOS development.
