Interesting article from a Flash Developer arguing that Flash in the Ipad wouldn't work well even IF IT WAS supported
I’m biased. I’m a full-time Flash developer and I’d love to get paid to make Flash sites for iPad. I want that to make sense—but it doesn’t. Flash on the iPad will not (and should not) happen—and the main reason, as I see it, is one that never gets talked about:
Current Flash sites could never be made work well on any touchscreen device, and this cannot be solved by Apple, Adobe, or magical new hardware.
That’s not because of slow mobile performance, battery drain or crashes. It’s because of the hover or mouseover problem.

Yup, I don't particularly agree with the article but thought it was interesting. I'm still itching to make my first flash Iphone app with CS5.

I'm glad he isn't making this argument, although he seems to be hinting that its also a factor. The exact demands on processor power would obviously depend on the implementation, but its really no different than Java on Android or, in most cases, dealing with high quality video.

Sure, but I imagine we will see an isTouchScreen() method in the next version of the API and, in the meantime, there are plenty of Flash sites that would work fine without it. You may not get nice glowing effects when you rollover menus or buttons, but many (most?) flash/flex sites would still be usable. Popular flash sites would quickly start to deliver an iPhone/iPad friendly version of their swf using client detection just as companies like Google do with their AJAX web apps. -

It is interesting. The rollover issue is an obstacle, I just don't think its a deal breaker.
re: iPhone apps with CS5
Having an alternate dev environment for iPhone apps is definitely interesting. Have there been any updates on Apple's position re: iPhone app development with CS5? -
