Our New Year Wishes for our New Hawaii Governor (Gov. Neil Abercrombie & Lt. Gov Brian Schatz) and Honolulu Mayor Peter Carlisle to reverse the Brain Drain.

When we survey our members in Hawaii and both sides of the Pacific Coasts, the 10s of thousands that left the Aloha State during the past two (2) decades are hoping Hawaii could EXPAND our ECONOMIC base by PROVIDING A BUSINESS FRIENDLY Environment for local SMEs (Small Medium Enterprises) as well as Companies planning to expand in North America.

The world is changing very fast. Competition is stiff. Look at Las Vegas when most in the travel industry thought they did an excellent job with clear branding and focus is losing out to Macao China and Singapore. It is highly unlikely Las Vegas will have the glory of yesterday years again. The major gaming Companies are repositioning their resources to Asia for better and higher returns. Hawaii is a capital poor State. Money will flow to the places where the investors may receive the best returns with low tax and business friendly environment.

If Hawaii will only consider Increasing tax and fee to balance the budget will add burden to local businesses and taxpayers, forcing more to leave Hawaii.

Better tourism news lately is great for Hawaii. Tourism is a service industry. Like all service industries, its pay and benefits could not support typical family of 4 at the Aloha States with the 2ND highest standard of living without requirement both husband and wife to work 2 or more jobs each.

I thought to share with you an article behind my signature...remember some of the familiar faces...is things getting better or worst?
