My first post! Aloha,

I could not find any discussion threads for my question so I hope to seek appropriate answers.

My question is "In your opinion which is the best and free Python editor for a novice like myself?"

I am working on a Windows platform.

Mahalo,

Hi Howard,

You may want to look into the PyDev Eclipse Plugin. I'm a novice with Python as well, but PyDev provided a lot of features that were very helpful when I first started learning.

Stephen I checked out PyDev. Pretty cool. Have you taken a look at Wing IDE? The Wing IDE 101 is free for non-commercial use.

Actually I wasn't aware of Wing IDE. I haven't done any Python development in at least a year, but from what I can see on their web site it looks like a robust IDE. I appreciate the pointer. I plan to give this one a try!
