Best Laptop internet usb device?

Greetings All,

             We have been using sprint air-cards on the 3g network for a few years but are not satisfied with the speed..Do any of you have advice on a 4g device for Oahu primarily and Mainland use from time to time?

My coworker tethers on Verizon's 3G with good results (I did previously also with good results). I've heard much criticism of Clear. Doubt the USB interface would be a bottleneck relative to the network.
