That's what the Hawaii Department of Education just paid to have their website, http://www.hawaiipublicschools.org/, redesigned. Now, I've built a few websites over the years, nothing quite as extensive as the DOT website, and I know that it can take some effort. But there are tools and plug-ins and apps that make it more like drag-and-drop than building something from scratch. Anyone who really knows what they're doing and has suitable experience with web design should be able to do a site re-design at a very reasonable cost. There's no indication about who did the work. But $1.7 million? C'mon!
Freelance Senior UX Designer - Telecommutetag:www.techhui.com,2012-10-04:1702911:Topic:1126662012-10-04T18:33:15.796ZAlyssa Khttp://www.techhui.com/profile/808pm

This is a pretty handy tool that I read about in a recent blog post. It allows you to load a web site with an overlay that shows you how likely your viewers will need to scroll in either direction to see it all.
There's great tips and tricks for CSS3 web standards that are now supported by the major browsers [Safari, Firefox, Chrome, etc] ( IE6 doesn't support the new CSS standards but what else is new)
