Event Description

As access to the web via mobile devices outpaces desktop use, it’s important to provide the best experience for accessing the web through various means. A popular method to accomplish this is through responsive web design, a design method that adapts the layout of web pages appropriately for various devices. This session explores how responsive web design affects the design process as well as how to prepare sites for responsive design with useful tools and code exercises.

Prerequisite: Experience with HTML and CSS preferred.

Charles Ka’a Kihe has worked in web design and development for over 15 years. He has worked for various places as both a front-end and back-end developer, including University of Hawai‘i at Ma¯noa; Bigger Bird Creative, Inc; and Digital Mediums. He is currently a developer for Wall-to-Wall Studios in downtown Honolulu. Charles is a advocate of practical integration of visual design trends, web standards, content strategy, and web development.

Workshop fee $60.
